ALL SIX SCOTS MISS THE CUT IN TERRE BLANCHE LADIES OPEN

All six Scots in the field of 96 were eliminated by the 36-hole cut in the first event on the Ladies European Tour's developmental circuit, LETAS, the Terre Blanche Ladies Open near Nice in southern France today.
Thirty-four players with aggregates of five-over 151 and better qualified in temperatures around the 14 degree mark for Saturday's final round. They did not include Carnoustie's Katy McNicoll on 152 (76-76), Pamela Feggans (77-76) and Heather MacRae (79-74) on 153, Pamela Pretswell on 154 (77-77), Laura Murray 159 (85-74) and Gemma Webster on 160 (82-78).

The biggest name among the non-qualifiers was Curtis Cup star Charley Hull (Woburn), pictured left by Cal Carson Golf Agency, who shot 79-76 for 155.
Pretswell, who will be playing on the full LET Tour this year, surprisingly missed the cut. Playing the ninth as her last hole, she needed a birdie for a 74 which would have taken her through on the limit mark of 151.
But, throwing caution to the winds, she ran up a double-bogey 7 for a 77 and missed out by three.
McNicoll had a double bogey 6 at the fourth in the second round after taking a triple bogey 6 at a short hole in her first round. After all that, the Carnoustie player only missed the cut by one shot.
Alford rookie Laura Murray (Paul Lawrie Golf Centre), last year's Scottish women's amateur champion, did not make the cut but she regained some lost pride with a one-over 74 after a nervous nightmare of 85 in her first round.
Leading the field by two shots on six-under 140 over a long course (6,567yd) with a par of 73 is Spanish amateur Patricia Sanz Barrio (71-69) who won the female individual category in last week's European Nations Cup for amateurs at Sotogrande.

 MADRID AMATEUR LEADS THE PROS

 FROM THE LETAS WEBSITE
Patricia Sanz Barrio of Spain holds a two-stroke advantage going into Saturday's final round of the Terre Blanche Ladies Open in France after carding a second round of four under par 69.
The 22-year-old amateur from Madrid mixed an eagle with four birdies and two bogeys on Le Riou Course at Terre Blanche in Provence today.
The Auburn University graduate, with a degree in microbiology, ended the day at six under par, two clear of experienced Frenchwoman Sophie Giquel-Bettan.
Sanz Barrio was extremely happy with her round, having played extremely well and only missed one green. Her eagle came after hitting her 5-iron to within two metres of the flag on the par five ninth hole while her bogeys on holes number two and 15 were both the result of three-putts.
Camille Fallay, also of France, was in third place on two under par, with six players two strokes further back on level par after 36 holes.
They include first round leader Mallory Fraiche who followed her opening round 69 with a 77, fellow American Megan Grehan (73), Melanie Maetzler of Switzerland (72), Celine Palomar of France (70), Sara Wikstrom (71) and Jacqueline Hedwall, both from Sweden (73).
The Terre Blanche Ladies Open, set in a stunning, five-star resort, which was voted 'Golf Resort of the Year Europe 2013' in November in the IAGTO Awards, is set for a dramatic conclusion on Saturday, with a number of important bonuses available.
In addition to the €4000 first prize on offer, the highest placed player not otherwise exempt will earn a place in the field for next week’s Lalla Meryem Cup in Morocco on the Ladies European Tour.
At the end of the season, the top five players on the 2013 LOrder of Merit will qualify for the 2014 LET season while the top 15 will qualify for the final stage of Lalla Aicha Tour School.
Terre Blanche, a stunning, mature resort is a breath-taking five star facility offering a hotel and state-of-the-art Spa to the world-renowned Albatros Golf Performance Centre, and is completed by two delightfully challenging 18 hole courses designed by Dave Thomas.
Developed by the Hopp family, Dietmar Hopp, past CEO of SAP - former co-sponsor of the SAP-Deutsche Bank Open on The European Tour - and now President of the club, Terre Blanche also acts as the winter base for the French Golf Federation’s elite amateur squads.
The Terre Blanche Ladies Open is being played on Le Riou: a highly technical course requiring strategy and precision, stretching to 6,005 metres (6,567 yards) and featuring rolling contours and winding fairways. The course unfolds through pine- and oak-lined hills and valleys, providing inspiring views of medieval Provençal villages and the Southern Alps.
