TOP TEN US FINISH BY LINZI ALLAN

Ayrshire's Linzi Allan, with only a few weeks left to go in her four years at Newman University, Wichita in Kansas, achieved a top 10 finish in the Lions' Classic women's college golf tournbament at Hardscrabble County Club, Fort Smith in Arkansas this week.Linzi, pictured. a member at West Kilbride GC, shot 77-82 for a total of 159 and joint seventh place in a field of 45 players over a par-70 course of 5,825yd.Team-mate Kiersten Klekner won by two shots with a total of 151 (77-74). A third Newman student, senior Megan Birdseye from Bedfordshire made the top 10 - a splendid team effort! - with scores of 81-79 for 160 and joint ninth place. Not surprising then that Newman University won the team title by six shots from Oklahoma Christian at the head of a field of nine squads. ends
