BRITISH SCHOOLS AND COLLEGES NATIONAL FINALS

NEWS RELEASE
A fantastic two days of golf at the Princes Golf Club in Kent for the British Schools and Colleges National Team Finals and Players Championships. 
The team championships were held on the Wednesday with all the top golf schools and colleges in the UK that qualified for the national finals via the UK league. 
The Darren Clarke Golf School from Northern Ireland came out on top, winning  the gross  event with scores of 70, 72, 75 and 76. 
They also won the net event  with a total of 284 with the best four scores from the six-player team to count.
The Golf College ( Denis Pugh's Academy) were runners up in the gross event on countback with Moulton College with a total score of 300. 
Derby College took the runners up spot in the Nett team event with a score of 288.
The Darren Clarke Golf School players, (left to right) James McVicker, Brian Carroll, Karl McCormack, Graham Mackay (coach), Conor Gorevan, Alex Doyle, JR Galbraith.  received the 2 main trophies plus trophies for each of the team gross and nett, they also received their GALVIN GREEN tops as prizes.
BRIDGESTONE Golf were on hand during the day to offer free ball fitting and a sleeve of balls to all that had their ball flight analysed
Most amazing story of the day was Josh Robertson ( Lee Westwood Golf School Essex) scored a hole in one on the 7th on the Himalayas ( 188 yards with a 4 iron)…sadly the hole in one cash prize of £7500 was for the following day…..British Schools Golf are currently organising a prize for him. ( separate press release will be sent out tomorrow)
Harry Woan ( Moulton) also hit a great shot into the par 5 16th holing out from 242 yards with a 3 wood to score a albatross
The Players Championships were played on the Himalayas and Shore courses on Thursday. The weather was fine with a few of the players being caught out with the hot sun. Some great scores with 12 players shooting level par or under. Jack Yule (Lee Westwood Golf School Essex) took the trophy with a 2 under par score of 69, he collected his trophy and GALVIN GREEN prize.
The Girls had their own separate competition and Gee Won Park
(Hartpury) came in with a 75 to take the trophy and a GALVIN GREEN prize…some of the girls pictured below with Gee
