CONNIE JAFFREY BEATS AUDREY THOMPSON IN AYRSHIRE CHAMPIONSHIP FINAL

Connie Jaffrey (Troon Ladies) is the new Ayrshire women's county golf champion at the age of 16.
She won the title on her first appearance in the final today (Wed), beating Audrey Thompson (Loudoun) - another first-time finalist - by 4 and 3 in the final at Irvine Bogside Golf Club.
Connie, the No 2 seed, got off to a flying start and established a four-hole lead after eight holes.
And 3udrey, who had beaten top seed Emma Hale (Troon Ladies) by 2 anad 1 in the morning semi-finals, fought back to cut her deficit to one hole but Jaffrey held her at bay and went on to win by 4 and 3.
