HARD GOING FOR ELIZABETH AND RACHAEL
It was not a good tournament for North Carolina State University's British students, Elizabeth Mallett from Sutton Coldfield, and Airdrie-born Rachael Taylor whose dad is a club pro in Germany.
Whatever the reason, Elizabeth, pictured, finished T56 in a field of 90 at the Bryan National Collegiate event at Bryan Park Champions Course, Brown Summit in North Carolina.
Mallett, a former runner-up in the British girls championship, had deteriorating rounds of 73-76 and 80.
Rachael also went backwards with scores of 74, 79 and 82 for T73 on 235.
Georgia University provided the individual winner in Emilie Burger with 72-70-69 for five-under 211 while Virginia won the team title with NC State seventh of 17.
