Day 2 - Thursday 4th April
Leinsters’ Aedin Murphy and Deirdre Smith pipped Munster in the final foursomes match with a birdie on the seventeenth, both players obviously enjoying the Castle Dargan course winning all their matches to date.
Leinster fought hard to retain their crown defeating Munster 6 - 3 with the youngsters in the side putting on a great show.....Mary Doyle (The Heath) won 5 and 4 having near “holes in one” to record birdies on both the 11th and 13th while Ariana Coyle Diez was 7 up before going on to win by 4 and 3 against Aoife Lowry.  Not to be outdone Aedin Murphy chipped in for a birdie herself on the 11th and maintains her unbeaten record with a 4 and 2 win.  Carla Reynolds also birdied the 11th hole but lost to Munster’s Emma O’Driscoll on the eighteenth to a conceded birdie putt.  Munster’s Chloe Ryan was 1 down through 10 holes against Karen Delaney but recovered well to win 3 and 2 and despite a penalty drop on the final hole (halved) between Amy Farrell and Sarah Cunningham, Amy’s slender 1 up lead was good enough to record a win.


Ulster defeated Connacht in their three foursomes matches on day 2, the Maguire’s maintaining the unbeaten record in the series so far.
Ulster were again in devastating form against Connacht in the afternoon singles. Paula Grant (Lisburn) was first home with a result on the eleventh and she was closely followed in by Leona Maguire, Lisa Maguire, Louise Coffey and Victoria Bradshaw.  Jessica Ross won the final match securing the clean sweep for Ulster.
