The terrific run of successful performances by British and Irish students on the US women's college circuit continues unabated.
The latest five-star display comes from Aberdeen-born Gemma
Dryburgh, a second-year student at Tulane University, New Orleans.
Gemma, beaten finalist in the Scottish U18 girls championship (by Eilidh Briggs) at Glenisla two years ago and coming up to her 20th birthday on June 6, was a key factor in Tulane winning the Conference USA Championship at Peninsula Golf and Racquets Club, Gulf Shores, Alabama on Wednesday.
And the Scot, daughter of a North Sea Oil company executive, was beaten in a three-way play-off for the individual title after tieing with Felicia Espericueta (Southern Methodist) and Nico Engstrom Skaug (East Carolina) on four-over-par 220.
Gemma had rounds of 74-74-72, Felicia 72-79-69 and Nico 70-75-75.
Gemma was eliminated at the first hole of the play-off which was won by Nico at the third extra hole
Gemma's dad John said:
"Although she didn't get the individual trophy she has still been classified as joint first, giving her a second Division 1 win of the 2012-13 college season and this will hopefully take her back into the top 100-ranked players.
"Gemma was very unlucky in the play-off. A bit like Greg Norman in the Open play-off at St Andrews a few years back, Gemma was so pumped up that she hit her drive so long, she ran out of fairway and had to chip out of the rough.
"But she still managed to put her approach to within seven feet of the flagstick and only just missed the putt. We're very proud of her."
Elizabeth Haydock from Birmingham, a junior year student at Old Dominion, finished T22 on 230 (77-78-75).
Team-mate Kim Bradbury, a third-year student from Buxton, Derbysire finished T28 on 232 (73-79-80).
And Northern Ireland's Holly Robinson from Sligo, a sophomore student at Alabama-Birmingham, finished 51st in the field of 55 players with scores of 84-87-81 for 252.
Tulane, with a cluster of top-10 finishers, ran away with the team title, finishing 27 shots ahead of runners-up East Carolina in a field of 11 teams.

GREY SUNK BY OPENING 79 IN ALABAMA
Jonathan Grey from Kent, who has had such a good year as a 6ft 5in freshman student at Georgia State, had to settle for fourth place after opening with an error-strewn opening round of seven-over 72 in the Sun Belt Conference Championship at the Robert Trent Jones course at Muscle Shoals, Alabama.
Grey recapture his form with subsequent rounds of 68 and 70 but the damage had been done and a total of one-over-par 217 left him three shots behind the joint winners, Lane Hulse (South Alabama) (68-74-72) and Rodolfo Cazaubon (North Texas) (72-68-74)
