REBECCA GIBBS AND JACK MCDONALD LEAD INTO LAST ROUND AT CRAIL

On a beautiful spring day at Crail Golfing Society's Craighead course, the best of the UK's student golfers bit back at the course that had proved so testing for the first round on Tuesday in the BUCS Student Tour Championship Finals.
The second and third rounds were played today and the scores of the day came in the Ladies Championship from Rebecca Gibbs (Kingston University), who was four under par for the day with rounds of 70 (-4) and 74 (level).
Rebecca's rounds included 13 birdies - the results of some excellent chipping and putting.
Overnight leaders, Gabrielle MacDonald (St Andrews) and Katie Bradbury (Exeter) remain in contention, four and five shots back respectively.
In the Men's Championship, overnight leader Jack McDonald (Stirling) added two further rounds of one-over 73 to his first round score for three-over-par tally of 219, increasing his lead by one stroke.
Joint second are Laurie Potter (Exeter) and Ryan McKinstry (Queen's, Belfast), six shots back on 225.
Round of the day in the Men's Championship was a course-record equalling four-under-par 68 by last year's Scottish U18 boys' match-play champion from Peebles, Craig Howie (Stirling).That hoisted him up to joint fifth place on 227 - eight shots behind leader McDonald.
The competition concludes with 18 holes on Thursday.
