STEPHEN GALLACHER FOUNDATION NEWS RELEASE
STUART HUTCHISON TROPHIES
at Swanston Golf Club on Sunday 28th April
Stuart Hutchison sadly died over 3 years ago in a tragic car accident on the A7, Stuart was a former Junior Champion of Swanston Golf Club and was a trainee PGA Professional at the time of the accident, he had a great passion for golf especially Junior golf and it was with many thanks to his family that they decided to donate 2 Claret Jug trophies to Clubgolf back in 2010 for boys and girls to compete for.
The Hutchison family, led my mum Isobel, have kindly donated these trophies now to the Foundation for the children to compete for and they have also kindly donated £2,250 to the Foundation for the benefit of the children.
We are extremely grateful to all the Hutchison family for all the fund raising they do for Junior golf and we will endeavour to ensure all their monies are used in the right manner for the benefit of the children.
On a cold and showery day at Swanston Golf Club we had 66 boys and girls competing for the Stuart Hutchison Trophies. Congratulations to all the boys, girls and parents for braving the cold conditions at the weekend.
The event was played in a stroke play format over 9 holes and there was excellent scoring in very testing conditions. Special mention must go to our two main winners, Megan Linton won the Girls trophy with an excellent score of 37 while the Boys trophy went to Aamar Saleem with an excellent score of 31, even better as he is still young enough for our under 10 section. Well done to you both.
