JEMMA GOES FROM RIDICULOUS TO SUBLIME AT LONGNIDDRY
For Jemma Chalmers, a three-handicap Monifieth Golf Club member, it really was a game of two halves in the Scottish women's amateur championship first qualifying round on a cold, wet and windy spring day at Longniddry
She reached the turn in a nightmare number of strokes - 54 to be precise, which is 17 OVER par for the first nine holes.
Jemma's 54 included a 9 and two 8s.
But she went from the ridiculous to the sublime, a different player indeed, after the turn.
Jemma came home in 36 shots, one UNDER par.
She had birdies at the 10th, 11th and 14.
Golf's a funny game. And Jemma was laughing at the end of her topsy-turvy round.
