ALYSON McKECHIN SETS PACE IN SLGA ORDER OF MERIT
NEWS RELEASE ISSUED BY SCOTTISH LADIES GOLFING ASSOCIATION
Alyson
McKechin (Elderslie) will go into next week’s Scottish Ladies’ Amateur
Championship at Longniddry as the early pace-setter in the Scottish Ladies’
Golfing Association’s Order of Merit.
Joint second
in the Helen Holm Scottish Open Strokeplay Championship, the 19-year-old from Paisley followed up with a top 40 finish in the second counting event, the Welsh Open Stroke Play Championship.
Jessica Meek
(Carnoustie Ladies) was the top Scot in fourth place in Wales and she has
slipped into third spot in the table.
In between
in second place is the most consistent Scot so far this season. Eilidh Briggs
(Kilmacolm) was 11th in Wales and 15th at the Helen Holm at Troon
Briggs was the beaten finalist in the Scottish Championship at
Machrihanish two years ago – the 20-year-old former Scottish Girls’ Champion
will be aiming to go one better in East Lothian next week.
