DANIEL THOMPSETT FROM ABOYNE NAME IN NA IA THIRD TEAM
NEWS RELEASE
KANSAS CITY, Missouri – The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) has announced the 2013 NAIA Men’s Golf All-America teams, as selected by the NAIA-Men’s Golf Coaches Association All-America Committee.
A total of 45 student-athletes were honoured with 15 individuals being named to each of the three teams.
Oklahoma City, who claimed its second-straight national crown after a dominant performance at this year’s national championships, landed three individuals – Michael Palmer, James Marchesani and Sondre Ronold – on the first team, while Anthony Marchesani received second team recognition.
Jos Gosling (Northwood University, Texas) from Harpenden, England and Julian Taylor (William Woods University, Missouri) from York were named the the First Team.
Daniel Thompsett (Rocky Mountain College) from Aboyne was chosen for the Third Team
That honour was on the back of a pretty good season by Daniel who had one win - at the Frontier Conference Championship - plus five top-5, one top-10 and one top-12 finish during the 2012-2013 college season.
His coach, Andrew Locke at the Paul Lawrie Golf Centre, will be proud of him. His Mum certainly is!
These teams never play together in a match but it is an end-of-the-season tradition in American college golf (and other sports) to single out - usually by the coaches - who are considered the best players over the season.
