JANE TURNER WINS MUNROSS TROPHY BY TWO SHOTS

Jane Turner came from behind to win the Munross Trophy 36-hole women's open tournament - an SLGA Order of Merit event - by two strokes at Montrose Links today (Sunday).
The Robert Gordon University design graduate had rounds of 74 and 72 for a level par aggregate of 146.
Her nearest rival after 36 holes was Emma Hale (Troon Ladies with 76-72 for 148.
Jane had halves of 36, which is level par out and one-under-par coming home.
Briggs had a nightmare outward half of 44 - eight over par - in the second round which killed her hopes of staying in contention. She had double bogeys at the first, fourth and ninth and also dropped shots at the seventh and eighth.
Megan got back in the groove after the turn with 37 home but could not repair the damage.

Last year's Scottish U18 girls champion, Lauren Whyte (St Regulus) finished third on 150 with rounds of 73-77.
Craigielaw member Turner did not make the best of starts. She was five over par after only seven holes in her morning round. Then she got into her stride with back to back birdies at the eighth and ninth, followed by two more birdies at the 14th and 15th.
