LINCOLN, Nebraska – Oklahoma City University's Jessica Schiele from Grimsby, Lincolnshire carded a round-two 68 to surge to the top of the leaderboard at the NAIA Women's College Golf Championship at Wilderness Ridge Golf Club on Wednesday.

Schiele propelled the Stars, ranked No. 2 in NAIA women's golf, to a two-day score of 310-305–615 and a tie for the lead with Cal State San Marcos. Lubbock Christian (Texas) finished the second round two shots back in third place.
Schiele's 68 matched the lowest round ever recorded at the NAIA championships. Schiele fired 68 at Link Hills Country Club in Greenville, Tennessee, in 2012

Former OCU golfer Ashley Sholer set the mark in 2006 when she won the individual championship.
Christian Liggin of Coastal Georgia finished the second round four shots back in second place.
“I was very pleased with the performance today,” OCU coach Marty McCauley said.

“We are only halfway to the championship, so we will need to continue to stay focused and play as a team.”
Teams saw temperatures in the 50s and 60s with wind gusts as high as 24 mph and overcast skies on the par-72, 5,978-yard course.
Schiele, a senior from Grimsby, North-east Lincolnshire, England, turned in a bogey-free round and improved her two-day score to 75-68–143, one under par.

Jessica is coming up to the end of her four years at Oklahoma City university and this will be her last US college tournament. She has had a stellar college golf career in the States.
Elia Folch, a junior from Barcelona, Spain, made par 15 times in round No. 2 and turned in a 75. Folch moved her two-day total to 78-75–153 and grabbed a share of seventh place.
The Stars - nickname for the Oklahoma City University team - will return to action in the third round of the NAIA Championships at 1:45 p.m. Thursday at Wilderness Ridge Golf Club.
