LATE TRIPLE BOGEY FOR CARLY BOOTH AS SHE HAS A 78 IN TURKEY
FROM THE LADIES EUROPEAN TOUR WEBSITE
Carlota Ciganda took the clubhouse lead on day one at the Turkish Airlines Ladies Open as she shot a four under par 69 at National Golf Club in Belek, Antalya.
The Spanish 22-year-old, who fired a course record 66 12 months earlier, mixed five birdies with one dropped shot at the ninth, her last hole, to set the target after a warm and cloudy morning.
Four further players, Lee-Anne Pace, Sarah Kemp, Carmen Alonso and Cecilie Lundgreen, finished the early session on three under par.
Just after Ciganda handed in her score card, Swedish rookie Rebecca Sorensen completed her first nine on holes 10 through 18 with five birdies on the card at 10, 11, 13, 14 and 16.
The 27-year-old from Grabo joined the Ladies European Tour after finishing in a tie for 36th place at Lalla Aicha Tour School in December and has played only one event prior to this: the Lalla Meryem Cup in Morocco, where she missed the cut.
Carly Booth returned a disappointing 78 which included a triple bogey 7 at the 17th and a hat-trick of bogeys from the seventh to the ninth.
Scots were not doing too well with Pamela Pretswell three over after nine.
