STEPHANIE MEADOW GOES FOUR SHOTS CLEAR WITH A SIX-UNDER 66
Stephanie Meadow, just about a month before she defends the British women's open amateur championship at Machynys in South Wales, hit peak form yesterday to go four shots clear of Alabama University team-mates Jennifer Kirby and Emma Talley at the head of the field of 126 competitors in the NCAA Division 1 Women's East Regional Championship at Auburn University, Alabama.
Over a par-72 course of 6,259yd, the Jordanstown, Northern Ireland player shot a six-under 66 for a 10-under tally of 134.
Kirby also had a 66, but for 138, the same aggregate as Talley who had a second-round 71.
Aberdeen's Gemma Dryburh is T9 on 142 after a round of 70.
Alabama (554) lead the team event by 14 shots from Tulane.

HAYLEY AND LAUREN SHARING 17th PLACE AT STANFORD
Baylor's English students Hayley Davis (pictured below) and Lauren Taylor are lying joint 17th in a field of 126 at the NCAA Division 1 Women's West Regional Championship at the Stanford University course, California.
Both have shot rounds of 73-72 for three-over-par 145 over the par-71 course (6,267yd)
A third Baylor student from England, Emma Carberry is T59 on 152 (78-74) while Scots Sally Watson (Stanford) and Rachael Watton (Denver) are T77 and T89 respectively.
Sally, playing over her home college course, has had rounds of 81 and 74 for 155.
Rachel has shot 80-77 for 157.
Leading the field by one is Annie Park (Southern California) with 67-71 for four-under 138.
Purdie (577) have dislodged Vanderbilt (578) from the lead but Southern California (579) are in close-up third place.
South Carlina is lying fourth on 581, Stanford fifth on 585 and Baylor sixth on 586. Denver is back in 18th place on 611.
ROSIE, CHARLOTTE DOWN THE OK FIELD
Rosie Davies from London, a student at Indiana University, and another English-born student, Charlotte Thomas (Washington) are joint 82nd in a field of 126 at the NCAA Division 1 Women's Central Regional championship at Norman, Oklahoma.
Rosie has scored 74-80 and Charlotte 76-78 for 154 - 17 shots behind the leader by one, Emily Collins (Oklahoma) (67-70).
Brogan Townend from Blackburn and a student at Texas-San Antonio is T97 on 156 (78-78).
Okalahoma lead the team chase with a total of 569, ahead of Duke (575) and Florida (589).
Further down the field we have Indiana and Washington sharing 15th place on 601.
Texas-San Antonio is 18th on 605.
