TRACY LOVEYS' SIGHTS SET ON WOMEN'S GLENMUIR PGA CHAMPIONSHIP

FROM THE WPGA WEBSITE
Devon's Tracy Loveys has revealed her determination to reclaim the Women's Glenmuir PGA Professional Championship.
The Bigbury Golf Club head professional is a three-time winner of the event in 2008, 2009 and 2010 but has been runner up for the last two years.
Twelve months ago she missed a short putt at the 18th to force a play-off so is aiming to book a return to the £5,000 grand final at De Vere Slaley Hall from June 13-14 via the qualifier at Birmingham’s Little Aston course on May 20.
Loveys will be spurred on by the memories of last year’s final where she was overnight leader at Carden Park but saw Huddersfield’s Alex Keighley take the honours in a dramatic finale when her four-foot par putt lipped out at the final hole.
“It would’ve been thrilling for anyone watching, but not for me!” said Loveys.
“To bogey the final hole was disappointing, frustrating, call it what you like, so like last year, the WPGA Championship is my priority, I want it back again.
“I’m not over-keen on parkland courses but Little Aston is one of the better ones.
“I’ve seen the field and once again it’s going to be very competitive for those final qualifying places.”
Loveys has just returned from a holiday in the Far East and unlike many golfers heading to the sun was happy not to pick up a golf club.
“I like to take time off away from the game. It doesn’t suit everyone, but it works for me and after three weeks off, I’ll get practicing in time for Little Aston.”
Other players taking part in the Glenmuir qualifier at Little Aston include 2011 champion Marie Allen (Motocaddy), Fern Grimshaw (Wessex Golf Centre),   Suzanne Dickens (Nene Park Golf Club),  Laura Harvey (Darlington),  Katie Tebbet (Rothley Park) and  two-time winner Alison Gray (Ormskirk).
