On our Scottishgolfview.com website we are running a feature about redevelopments at Edzell Golf Club's inland course which is in Angus, not far off the main Aberdeen to Dundee dual carriageway.
Edzell hosted the 1982 Girls' Home Internationals (won by England) and the 1982 British girls open amateur championship, won by Claire Waite who beat Carnoustie's Mary Mackie (now Summers) in the final.
Interesting to look back at the teams in the Girls' Home Internationals of 31 years ago and see which players went on to make their mark in women's amateur and professional golf.
The teams were:
SCOTLAND
L Anderson, E Farquharson, K Imrie, A Johnston, S Lawson, M Mackie, E Shannon, D Thomson. Captain: V McAlister.
ENGLAND
F Dawson, S Duhig, P Grice, C Griffiths, J Hill, J Hurley, P Johnson, L Percival, C Waite. Captain: J Melville.
