ARIYA JUTANUGARN HURT IN FALL WHILE PRACTISING

FROM THE GOLFWEEK WEBSITE
Ariya Jutanugarn opened her week at the Wegmans LPGA Championship with a slip and fall on Monday while practising at Locust Hill Country Club in Pittsford, New York State.
Jutanugarn, 17, of Thailand, is entered in this week’s tournament, the season’s second major championship, courtesy of her top-20 position in the Rolex Rankings. She is No. 15.
According to a family friend, Jutanugarn injured her right shoulder with the fall and then had difficulty moving her right arm. Jutanugarn thought she might have broken the arm or dislocated the shoulder, but an LPGA trainer onsite found no breaks.
Jutanugarn visited a doctor this afternoon to get a second opinion, and an X-ray disclosed no break. She was awaiting an MRI. Jutanugarn has not withdrawn from the tournament.
The Wegmans would be Jutanugarn’s sixth LPGA tour start this season. A rookie on the Ladies European Tour, Jutanugarn has earned a spot in all of the season’s remaining majors.
