BAD WEATHER HITS START OF PALMER CUP PROGRAMME

As tropical storm Andrea moved up America's East Course on Friday, it wreaked havoc on the first round of the Palmer Cup. Play was suspended for the day and is set to resume Saturday at 7:30 a.m.Four-ball matches began at 7:30 a.m. at Wilmington Country Club in Wilmington, Del., but play was suspended not quite an hour later. The first match made it only as far as the second hole. The final two matches never even began.

First round play has been suspended until 7.30 am (local time) at Wilmington Country Club, Delaware.
Matches will resume at the point of suspension on Friday.The event format will also be amended with a round of singles following the completed first round.
Foursomes matches will tee off Sunday at 7 am with singles at 1:30 pm.
