The Continent of Europe extended their lead over Great Britain and Ireland in the 28th Vagliano Trophy match to 3pt with eight singles to play on the final afternoon at Chantilly Golf Club, France.
In the Junior Vagliano Trophy match for Under-16s, the Continent established a winning lead of 9 1/2-2 1/2 with the six concluding singles to come.
The Continentals took the second session of foursomes 3-1 to lead 9 1/2-6 1/2 overall.
GB and I's only winners were Georgia Hall and Hayley Davis who beat Celine Boutier and Natalia Escuriola by 2 and 1 in the lead-off match.
Hall and Davis were one down after 12, having been all square through the sixth and ninth but the Dorset pair finished strongly to win three of tShe closing holes.
Bronte Law and Gabriella Cowley were one up at the turn against Nicole Larsen and Emily Pedersen but were all square after 12 and went down by 2 and 1 to the Danish pair.
Amy Boulden and Alexandra Peters fell three down early on to Camilla Hedberg and Noemi Jimenex and could not make any significant inroads on their deficit. The Spanish pair, three up at the turn, won by 3 and 2.
Stephanie Meadow and Amber Ratcliffe were one up after six against Sophia Popov and Karolin Lampert but the Germans had squared it by the turn and gone into a two-hole lead after 12.
Meadow and Ratcliffe halved their deficit by the 15th but Popov and Lampert rallied to win by 2 and 1.
The Continent of Europe made a clean sweep of the foursomes in the Junior Vagliano Trophy to make sure they would retain the trophy they won at the inaugural Under-16s match at Royal Porthcawl two years ago.
Olivia Mehaffey and Alice Hewson lost the lead-off foursomes by two holes to Covadonga Sanjuan and Alejandra Pasarin. Mehaffey and Hewson, four down at the turn and three down on the 16th tee, did very well to take the match to the 18th green before admitting defeat.
Sophie Lamb and Fiona Liddell lost by 3 and 2 to Csilla Laytai and Albane Valenzuela after being all square at the turn. The Continentals edged ahead early on the second nine and were three-up after 15 holes.
Sophie Madden and Samantha Fuller went down by 3 and 2 to Mathila Cappeliez and Eva Gilla, having been three down through the ninth and 12th. They did get a hole back to be two down with three to play but lost the 16th and the match.
