CALUM HILL FINISHES TOP SCOT IN COOPER JUNIOR MASTERS

A third-round 79 killed off the title hopes of Calum Hill (Tantallon), second at the halfway stage, in the Sir Henry Cooper Junior Masters at Nizels Golf Club Kent yesterday (Sunday).
Hill, hoping to repeat Craig Howie's 2012 victory in the event, eventually finished joint 17th on 293 with scores of 68-74-79-72 - 11 shots behind the boys' tournament winner, Matty Lamb (Hexham) who had rounds of 73, 71, 70 and 68 for 282 and a two-stroke win from Adam Chapman (Windermere).
Chris MacClean (Clydebank and District0 finished joint 22nd on 296 with scores of 71, 76, 76 and 73.
Alan Waugh (Cowglen) and Ewen Ferguson (Bearsden) tied for 27th place on 298. Waugh scored 70, 77, 78 and 73, Ferguson 69,75,78 and 76.
Connor Sym (Dumfries and Co) shot 73, 73, 80 and 74 for a share of 32nd place on 300.

The other Scottish boys did not qualify for the final day's play:
