MUSSELBURGH GIRL QUALIFIERS FOR PERTH GRAND FINAL

Young Lauren Lee, 14-year-old Musselburgh Golf Club member, was one of six qualifiers for the SLGA Grand Medal Final at King James VI GC, Perth on September 8 from today's (Thursday) East Division Medal Final at Kirkcaldy.

Lauren led the Silver Division qualifiers with a net 72 off 12. Other Silver qualifiers were Isla Moncrieff (Pitlochry) with a 73 off seven and Gael Davidson (Clydebank and District) with a 75 off seven. Kate Johnson (Baberton) also had a net 75, off four, but lost out on a card countback.

Vivien Mitchell (Lochend) headed the Bronze Division qualifiers with a net 66 off 20. Other Bronze qualifiers were Julie Hughes (Balbirnie Park) with a 73 off 25 and Anne Caldwell (Colville Park) with a 74 off 27.

Aly (sic) McCathie (Stranraer) also had a net 74, off 24, but she lost out on a countbak.

A total of 90 players took part on a wet morning, drying a bit in the afternoon.L

The par was 72, the standard scratch 74 and the CSS 75.
