PAUL LAWRIE SCHOOLS TEAM CHALLENGE 2013

(IN CONJUNCTION WITH PAUL LAWRIE GOLF AND PETERCULTER GC)

You are invited to enter a team in the Paul Lawrie Foundation Schools’ Team Challenge at Peterculter GC on Monday, 26th August 2013.  A shotgun start will be in operation with play commencing at noon. Tee times will therefore be limited, so entry will be on a first come basis.

The format will be teams of 3 (boys or girls) who will play in both a scratch and handicap competition (teams can win only one prize) with all 3 scores counting.  Prizes will be awarded to the winner and runners-up in each of the categories.

Pupils must be on the school roll at 26th August 2013.

ENTRY

Completed entry forms along with a fee of £25 per team (cheque to be made payable to “Torry Academy”) should be sent to the address below. No email/telephone entries will be accepted.  Only one entry per school will be allowed.

PLAY

The Challenge will be decided by stroke play with the PAUL LAWRIE TROPHY awarded to the team with the lowest total scratch scores.

The AT PERSONNEL TROPHY will be awarded to the team with the best handicap total on the day.

Prize winners who do not stay for the presentation will forfeit their prize.

TIES

Will be decided by the total team score over the last 9 holes.

If still tied, elimination will be determined by the total over last 6, 4, 2, 1 holes.

If still tied, a sudden death play off will take place between the lowest handicap player in each team.

DRESS

The wearing of jeans and trainers on the course and in the clubhouse will not be permitted.

TROPHIES

The trophies should be kept in the winning school and returned to Derek Johnstone at Torry Academy when requested.

GENERAL

Each entry implies acceptance of the Conditions of Play governing the Challenge. These conform to Royal & Ancient rules governing amateur status.

All play will be with golf balls on the current list of conforming balls issued by the Royal & Ancient GC.

If play has started, but has to be abandoned, the organisers will determine the winning teams by the most equitable method possible.

No caddies are allowed at any stage of the Challenge.

The organisers reserve the right to alter the Conditions of Play without prior notice.

Boys will play from the WHITE tees, girls from the RED.
