SHANNON McWILLIAM WINS ABERDEENSHIRE GIRLS MEDAL AT NEWBURGH on YTHAN
Shannon McWilliam, pictured driving at Trump International, 13-year-old Aboyne prospect, won today's (Sunday) Aberdeenshire girls' medal competition at Newburgh-on-Ythan Club with a first-class round of 75.
Shannon finished eight shots clear of Kimberley Beveridge, also from Aboyne, and Lauren Watson (Deeside).
Shannon, who plays off four of a handicap, also had the best net score of 71 but no player can win two prizes so the handicap award went to Sarah Black (Deeside) with a net 74 off 13 with Jasmine Mackintosh (Hazlehead) runner-up with a net 76 off 10 (better inward half).
