STEPHANIE MEADOW IS LEADING QUALIFIER FOR IRISH CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH-PLAY

FROM THE IRISH LADIES GOLF UNION 
Stephanie Meadow (Royal Portrush) has won the Leitrim Cup as leading qualifier with rounds of 72, 67 for a total 139 in the Irish women's (closed) amateur championship.
 Stephanie's blistering second-round 67 (35-32) included seven birdies (the 5th, 8th, 9th, 11th, 12th, 14th, and 16th). The only blemish on her card was a bogey at the tough par 3 15th hole (measuring 203 yards). 
As last year's runner up, beaten in the final by Leona Maguire, Stephanie threw down the gauntlet but will have a tough opening encounter against Irish girls stroke play champion and GB and I Junior Vagliano Trophy team selection Olivia Mehaffey.
Chloe Ryan was the model of consistency with rounds of 71 and 73.  Her 36 hole total of 144 included 7 birdies and an eagle.  She had a triple bogey 6 at the 15th.
Title-holder Leona Maguire qualified in fourth place.
