US COLLEGE STUDENT NELSON WINS ROYAL DORNOCH CLUB TITLE

Nelson, 21-year-old, third-year student at Oakland University in the state of Michigan, has become the Royal Dornoch Golf Club champion.
He came from behind with two good rounds on Saturday in windy conditions to take the championship, played over four rounds of stroke-play
Nelson, who has +1 of a handicap, finished with an aggregate of 286, four shots ahead of the halfway leader, James Bunch who was Scottish boys' stroke-play champion in 1993.
Nelson shot a morning 71 in the third round, enabling him to start the final round on level terms with Bunch who has a +3 rating.

A sub-par afternoon round of 69 saw Cameron surge four shots clear of the field. Bunch, who finished with 73, totalled 290, Neil Hampton 293, Alexander MacDonald 294 and Kevin Matheson 295.
