YANI TSENG SIGNS UP WITH IMG

Yani Tseng, a global superstar and the fifth-ranked player in the world in women’s professional golf, signed with IMG, the world’s leading sports, fashion and media company, for management and marketing representation it was announced today.
Tseng was ranked first in the world for 109 weeks from 2011 to 2013.
The 24-year old Tseng, a native of Taiwan, is the youngest player, male or female, to win five major championships. Tseng, who turned professional in  2007 at the age of 18, has 26 professional wins to her credit, including major victories at the Kraft Nabisco Championship (2010), the LPGA Championship (2008, 2011) and the Ricoh Women’s British Open (2010, 2011). 
At age 19 she was the youngest player to win the LPGA Championship and the second youngest player to win an LPGA major. In 2009, she became the fastest player in LPGA Tour history to reach the $2 Million mark in career earnings.
Tseng was named the LPGA Tour Rookie of the Year in 2008 and earned the LPGA Tour Player of the Year award in 2010 and 2011.

Tseng worked with IMG her first two years as an LPGA pro before striking out on her own after that contract expired. Now she's back in the IMG fold with a new agreement.
“Professional golf, but women’s golf especially, is a global game, and I have recognised the importance of having representation that reaches all corners of the globe,” Tseng said in a statement.
Tseng, who is battling tonsillitis at this week’s Wegmans LPGA Championship, won’t lose any of her current management team in the new partnership. 
Her long-time adviser, Ernie Huang, who helped negotiate deals, and her manager, Naya Hsu, remain part of the team.
IMG reports it will oversee management and marketing for Tseng with a focus on North America and Europe while working in partnership with Nihao and Tseng Yani International, her management companies in Asia.
“We've been talking about this for a year," Huang said. "IMG brings tremendous resources and experience to the table. They can help Yani become a global brand.”
