Former Curtis Cup player Sally Watson and England's Daisy Dyer from Basildon, Essex jointly scored their first tournament win as professionals in the Paul Lawrie Scottish Ladies Open Tour 18-hole competition at Alyth Golf Club, near Blairgowrie today (Fr.
Watson and Dyer both shot one-under-par 70s to earn £625 apiece in this event, the Scotts Atlantic Challenge tournament.
Daisy (top right picture) pipped Sally (lower picture) for the winner's bonus prize - a Taylor Made putter - with a better inward half: 36 to 37.
Heather Stirling finished third on 71 to win £400.
Local player Jacqueline Sneddon was the leading amateur in joint sixth place on 74. She earned a prize voucher to the value of £93.
Jacqueline also won the nearest the pin at the short 17th prize - a £100 voucher sponsored by Coupar Angus hotelier Alan Bannerman.
Jane Turner (Craigielaw), who has made a very good start to her pro career, won the long driving competition, which earned her two dozen golf balls.
Sally Watson had the lowest aggregate (142) over the Blairgowrie-Alyth competitions and she won a weekend at self-catering accommodaton at Gleneagles Village, sponsored by Melville Properties.
The next Paul Lawrie Ladies Tour events are at Fairmont St Andrews (Torrance Course) on August 26 followed by The Duke's on August 27. Both 18-hole competitions will have £3,000 prize funds.
