Shona Malcolm, the CEO of the LGU, and Chairman Trish Wilson earlier today presented the first copy of "THE LADIES GOLF UNION - 1893-2013" to Inbee Park.
"We wanted Inbee to have the first copy because we feel that she and her Asian colleagues have been such a force for the good in the women's game," said Malcolm.
"They have given the rest of us a wake-up call by demonstrating what's possible with their brand of hard work and dedication."
Malcolm went on to predict that Inbee's feats could have "a greater effrect than anything else" on the woman golfer's cause in the UK - and that men and women alike will be spellbound by her performance over the Old Course later this week.
"We are expecting around 60,000 spectators and, though many of them will be pulling for a home winner, I think we can safely say that there will be plenty of golfing connoisseurs who want to see Inbee making history."
Park sad she was delighted to receive a copy of the book and that she was proud that so many pages should have been devoted to Asian golf and Asian players.
She added that she was happy that her English was good enough to allow her to catch up with all the other chapters, particularly those relating to St Andrews.
"I can never know enough about the Home of Golf," said the player.

- SHE SAYS OLD COURSE SUITS HER GAME!

Three in a row Major winner Inbee Park has bad news for her rivals in the Ricoh Women's British Open championship. The South Korean World No 1 feels the Old Course suits her game.
The South Korean World No 1 feels the Old Course suits her game.
The 25-year-old from Seoul told a Press Conference today:
"The wind will be a factor this week. I'm a kind of low-flight ball hitter and I think this golf course really suits my eye. In fact, the Old Course, St Andrews really suits my game.
"It has big greens with some big ridges. You're going to hit a lot of greens here and you're going to have putts that are 20 or 30 yards long. You have to be a good pace putter.
"I'm going to hit a lot of putts so I think it kind of comes to my advantage that I get to use my putter a lot on this golf course. If we get the bad weather, my ball flight is very low so that also would be an advantage for me."
Inbee took a week off back home in South Korea since her last tournament and she thinks the break will be to her benefit.
"I was tired physically but I am lot happier mentally now, having been able to see my friends and family back home ... being able to communicate with my fans was also good for me.
"Being a lot happier gives me a lot of energy coming into this week. So I'm trying to take the positives out of it."

OTHER POINTS FROM INBEE PARK INTERVIEW
+She received a red Ferrari to drive - free of charge - for a year while she was back home in South Korea last week.
+Responding to a quote from Stacy Lewis, that it was impossible to tell from Inbee Park's demeanour on a golf course whether she was paying well or not so well, Inbee said:
"I think that's gbeen my personality since I was a little kid. My emotions don't express so much on my face. That's just how I play golf and it's been working really well.
"I think it helps a lot on a golf course when your emotires are very calm. It helps you play more consistently."
Inbee won the US Women's Open in 2008 when she was just 19. She believes she has improved in so many ways over the last five years.
"I wasn't experienced on the LPGA Tour then. It was only my second year on the tour. I needed time to get use to travelling,
and to life on the tour.
"I think experience of situations really helps you. I was very nervous the first time I was in the last (leading) group out on the last day of a tournament. But after being in the last grouop about 20 times, you still feel the pressure but you become accustomed to it and it gets less as the years go by."

QUOTE FROM WORLD No 2 STACY Lewis (who won five games out of five for the United States in the 2008 Curtis Cup match over the Old Course:
Answering the following question:
"Another American (Phil Mickelson) won 1.4 million at Muirfield - like Wimbledon, do you think women'I s pro golf should have the same level of prize money as there is in the men's game?"
Stacy replied:
"I think the ultimate goal for all of us (on women's pro tours) is to be playing for the same amount of money as the gusys gets and also playing on the same courses, the best courses that the men play on.
"I hope I am still on Tour when it happens .. if it happens. We struggle to get the recognition and credibility that we deserve.
"I don't believe that Inbee Park, for instance, is getting the credit that she deserves (for winning three Majors in a row).
"If somebody was doing this on the men's tour, it would be talked about over and over and over again for a month before the next Major, not just a couple of days before the event.
"So I don't think we (the LPGA) as a Tour have been given the credibility that we have deserved and it's something that we are struggling to get."
