LISA MAGUIRE JOINT SIXTH IN EUROPEAN AMATEUR CHAMPIONSHIP

Emily Pedersen from Norway won the European women's individual amateur championship by three strokes at Aura Golf Club, Finland today.
Emily, a member of the winning Continent of Europe team in the recent Vagliano Trophy match against GB and I had rounds of 67, 73, 64 and 72 for a total of eight-under-par 276.
That 10-under-par third round was the one that lifted the Norwegian out of the pack.
Runner-up was former British girls' open amateur champion, when the tournament was played at Monifieth, Laura Gonzalez Escallon (Belgium).
Leading British or Irish player was Lisa Maguire (Slieve Russell) in joint sixth place on 284, one shot ahead of Wales' Amy Boulden (Conwy).
British women's and girls champion Georgia Hall (Remedy) finished joint 36th on 295, a shot behind Bronte Law and Hayley Davis, and on the same mark as Sarah-Jane Boyd (Truro) and Alex Peters (Notts Ladies).
