LYDIA KO LOOKING TO MAINTAIN GOOD RECORD IN PRO EVENTS
World No 1 female amateur Lydia Ko, pictured above, will look to continue her perfect record in professional golf events tomorrow at the Marathon Classic on the LPGA Tour in Ohio.
The 16-year-old Kiwi has not missed a cut in the 21 professional tournaments she has played dating back to 2010.
She will play the first two rounds of the 72-hole stroke play event at the Highland Meadows Golf Club in Sylvania alongside American Natalie Gulbis and highly-rated Spaniard Belen Mozo.
Lydia's form in 2013 warrants optimism that she will more than just make the cut.
In the 10 pro events she has played this year Ko has recorded five top-five finishes and six top-10s as she backs up her breakthrough season in 2012 like a seasoned pro.
Ranked No 17 among the world's lady pros - yes, she is an amateur but she is a kind of "honorary" lady pro - Lydia bounced back well in her latest performance in the States.
Ko shot an even par 72 in the final round of the U.S. Women's Open Championship in New York to finish tied 36th and runner-up in the amateur honours.
Ko is looking for a solid performance this week in Ohio ahead of the Ricoh Women's British Open over the Old Course, St Andrews from August 1-4.
