MICHAEL (16) AND KIRSTY (13) MAKE IT A FAMILY DOUBLE AT STRATHMORE

Perthshire brother and sister Michael and Kirsty Brodie had a brilliant family double at the weekend.

Michael won the men's club championship at Strathmore Golf Club and Kirsty won the club's women's championship.

Said former Perthshire women's county captain Dawn Butchart 
"Both played amazing golf  and I should know because I was on the receiving end from Kirsty!

"My husband Iain, the club's junior convener was on Michael’s bag in the men's final against Norman Dyce, and Iain said the standard of golf was just amazing in that.. It is a 36 hole final and after 18 holes Michael was one up. However he went on to win 6 and 4 and was one under par at the end of the 32 holes. 

"Kirsty was five up after 18 and won 6 and 5. As Michael and Kirsty are only 16 and 13 years of age respectively, a family double in the championship may become a trend for many years to come."
