PAMELA FEGGANS WINS BY FOUR STROKES IN SWEDEN
Flowers and a big cheque ... perfect Swedish finish for Pamela Feggans
Ayrshire's Pamela Feggans won the Ingaro Ladies Open at Ingaro Golf Club, near Stockholm today. It was the Doon Valley player's first win on the Ladies European Tour Access Series.
Feggans won the 4,834 Euros first prize by four strokes with a seven-under-par total of 203 for the 54 holes with rounds of 69, 67 and 67 over the par-70 circuit.
Starting the final day one shot off the lead the Scot bogeyed the third but then got into her stride with birdies at the long fourth and 10th. She dropped another shot at the 11th but then came the surge that carried her clear of the field - three 2s down the home stretch.
She birdied the short 14th, got an eagle 2 by holing her second shot at the par-4 15th, dropped her last stroke to par at the long 16th, but then completed a hat-trick of 2s at the short 17th.
Feggans, who lives at Patna, Ayrshire, will be 31 next month. She was joint winner with Pamela Prestswell of an 18-hole event on the Paul Lawrie Scottish Ladies Open Tour at Carnoustie Burnside earlier this month.
Katy McNicoll (Carnoustie) finished joint 17th on 216 with scores of 75, 68 and 73. She earned 581 Euros
Kelsey MacDonald (Robert Rock Academy) from Nairn, the only other Scot to survive the 36-hole cut, finished joint 29th on 221 with ronds of 71, 74 and 76. She earned 454 Euros.
