Aberdeenshire women's county champion Sammy Leslie (Aberdeen Ladies) swept into the quarter-finals of the North of Scotland women's amateur championship at sunny Deeside Golf Club today.

With temperatures touching the 30 degree mark, Leslie beat clubmate Ellie Whyte by 6 and 4 and then had to wait to see whom she would play in the last eight because the Nicola Robertson (Dunblane New) v Sara Mathieson (Murcar Links) tie went into extra holes.
