St Rule Trophy winner Ailsa Summers had a 10 and fellow Carnoustie Ladies player Jess Meek 45 shots for nine holes as Eilidh Briggs (71), Rachael Watton (72) and Gemma Dryburgh (73) kept Scotland in with a chance of being one of the eight qualifiers for the European women's amateur team championship match-play flight at Fulford Golf Club, Yorkshire.
Scotland start the second and final stroke-play eliminating round sharing eighth place on 374 with Belgium.
Denmark (349) lead from Spain (354) with England (364) third.
Briggs made hardly any mistakes in a one-under-par 71 (35-37) while Rachael Watton was not far behind her with a 72 (37-35).
Aberdeen-born US college circuit player Gemma Dryburgh was also fairly stead with halves of 36-37 for 73.
Scottish champion Alyson McKechin had a disappointing day with a 78 of which 41 shots were spent over the first nine holes.
Summers was doing not too badly when she turned in 37 but the inward half cost her 43 blows, including a 10 at the 13th. Ailsa had as many birdies as anybody in the field - six in all.
The non-counting score was an 84 by young Jess Meek who had two 7s in an outward 45.
