TOP SEED OLIVIA MEHAFFEY WINS AT 19TH TO REACH LAST FOUR

GB and I Junior Vagliano Trophy player Olivia Mehaffey (Royal Co Down Ladies), the leading qualifier, is through to the semi-finals of the Irish girls (close) championship at Ballyliffin Golf Club.
It was not all plain sailing for Olivia. She had to birdie the 19th to win her quarter-final against Chloe Weir (Shandon Park).
Now Mehaffey plays Shannon Burke at 8am tomorrow morning for a place in the final. Burke also went to the first extra hole to win her quarter-final.
Julie McCarthy and Mary Doyle both had more comfortable wins and meet in the other semi-final at 8.09am. The afternoon final is scheduled for 1pm.
