AWESOME KATY McNICOLL GETS PLACE IN SCOTTISH LADIES OPEN FIELD

NEWS RELEASE
Scottish golf professional Katy McNicoll, who is sponsored by Scotland’s most spectacular golf clothing brand Royal and Awesome, is celebrating after securing a place at the Aberdeen Asset Management Ladies Scottish Open to be played at Archerfield Links, East Lothian from tomorrow (Friday) until Sunday.
Carnoustie-based McNicol, who has been showcasing the brand’s full range of women’s clothing throughout the year, has enjoyed a successful season so far and is currently sitting at the top of the Paul Lawrie Golf Centre Scottish Ladies Open Tour Order of Merit, with just four events remaining.
The 25-year-old has already represented Royal and Awesome on the Ladies European Tour (LET) in 2013 and regularly competes against the best players including fellow Scots Catriona Matthew and Carly Booth, teen sensation Charley Hull and LET legend Laura Davies.
Royal and Awesome’s brand director, Graeme Smeaton, said: “Katy has been brightening up the fairways across Europe this summer, and as a very proud Scottish brand, we are delighted that Royal and Awesome will be supporting a home-grown professional at this year’s Scottish Open. We are sure that Katy’s ‘awesome’ form and spectacular outfits will dazzle competitors and spectators alike.”
Royal and Awesome’s range of eye-catching golf trousers, shorts and hats are ‘perfect for the pars and the bars’. The brand has recently launched plus-twos as well as women’s pants, shorts and skorts in their dazzling designs, complemented by a range of men’s and women’s shirts, socks and belts.
The ‘Awesomes’ – the brand’s range of brightly designed golf trousers – build on the wonderful heritage and history of golf in Scotland by adding a whole lot of fun and colour, and are guaranteed to make an impact on the course, the clubhouse or the corporate jolly. All of their ‘bottoms’ come with a free golf tool/bottle opener, which is a nod to their strap line of ‘for the pars and the bars’.
The Aberdeen Asset Management Ladies Scottish Open has been played at Archerfield Links since 2010. The event’s unique pro-am format sees 70 amateurs and celebrities tee it up alongside a limited field of 70 of the world’s top female golfers. With a prize fund of €220,000, the 54-hole tournament is played over three days and is the only annual professional LET event in Scotland.
