CHARLIE AND KIRSTY LEAD LORETTO SCHOOL UNDER-14s CHAMPIONSHIPS AT F AND R

Charlie Strickland (Ham Manor) and Strathmore's Kirsty Brodie were the respective leaders at the end of the first round of the Loretto School Scottish Under-14 boys and girls' stroke-play championships at Fortrose and Rosemarkie Golf Club.
Charlie set the boys' pace with a one-under-par 70 to lead by two shots. Best placed Scot was Callum Bruce (Duff House Roal) with a 73.
Kirsty also heads the girls' section by two strokes after a a 73. Her closest rivals are Hazel MacGarvie (Troon Ladies) and Aboyne's Shannon Williams.
