FLYING DUTCHWOMAN SHOOTS 68 IN STRATHTYRUM FIRST Q ROUND

Dutch visitor Marit Harryvan looks like being the No 1 seed for the Strathtyrum Tournament for women at St Andrews.
In the first of two qualifying rounds to reduce the entry to 32 qualifiers for the scratch match-play, the Netherlands player shot a five under par 68 over the Eden Course.
She will start the second round with a four shot lead from young Kate McIntosh (Broomieknowe) with Ann Ramsay (Kirriemuir) and Charlotte Redin sharing third place on 73.
Karen Marshall, a rSweegular contender in this tournament is on the 76 mark.
