IRELAND WIN TEAM EVENT AT PRESTWICK



Ireland won the international team event run in conjunction with the first two rounds of the British women's open amateur stroke play championship at Prestwick
Paula Grant (Lisburn) and the Maguire twins, Leona and Lisa, from the Slieve Russell Club, totalled 290 - five strokes ahead of runners-up England (Bronte Law, Lauren Taylor and Sarah-Jane Boyd) with Italy (297) in third place.
Scotland (Eilidh Briggs, Gemma Dryburgh and Alyson McKechin) finished fourth on 299 while Wales (Amy Boulden, Becky Harries and Sam Birks) were last of the five competing nations on 301
