OLYMPICS MEDAL WINNER TO PLAY IN TWO PAUL LAWRIE TOUR EVENTS

London Olympics medal-winning hockey player Chloe Rogers has entered both Paul Lawrie Scottish Ladies Open Tour 18-hole competitions in the St Andrews area next week.
A member of Braintree Golf Club, Essex, Chloe was a member of the GB and I women's hockey team who won bronze medals last summer.
She was beaten in the final of the English women's mid-amateur championship on Sunday and will be competing in the British women's open amateur stroke-play championship over 72 holes at Prestwick Golf Club from Wednesday to Friday.
Then she will move over to Fife for the Paul Lawrie Tour events, which are open to lady professionals and any female amateur with a single-figure handicap, at Fairmont St Andrews (Torrance Course) on Monday, August 26 and, the following day, at The Duke's Course. 
If an entry of 30 is reached, this will guarantee a prizefund of £3,000 at each venue. Aberdeen hotelier Stewart Spence, who sponsors Heather MacRae, has personally added £500 to each prizefund.
Amateurs are restricted under the Rules of Amateur Status to prize vouchers with a maximum value of £500. Should no amateurs figure on the main prize lists they will still gain supplementary awards of golf balls.

The first starting time at Fairmont St Andrews on Monday is 2pm to allow players to travel from home to Fife. 
There is still time for late entries from lady professionals and female amateurs to both Paul Lawrie Tour events.
The organisers are hoping that Chloe Rogers' example will be followed by more players who have come up to Prestwick for the British women's amateur stroke-play championships.
