HEATHER STIRLING SCORES FIRST WIN ON PAUL LAWRIE TOUR

Heather Stirling won the top prize of £750 with a score of one-under-par 70 in today's Paul Lawrie Scottish Ladies Open Tour 18-hole competition over The Duke's Course, St Andrews
She won by a stroke from Jane Turner (Craigielaw) whose 71 earned her £500.
Heather, based near St Andrews where she is a professional caddie, was winning on the fledgling circuit for the first time. She birdied the first, fifth, seventh, and 10th in halves of 34 (two under par) and 36 (one over). She bogeyed the sixth, 12th and 16th.
Jane cancelled out five birdies - at the first, fourth, sixth, 11th and 13th with five bogeys includng three in a row, at the eighth, ninth and tenth in halves of 36-35.
Katy McNicoll (Carnoustie) finished third on 72 to receive £400.
Hannah Scott (Broomieknowe) hit the flagstick with her tee shot at the short 16th where the Arnold Clark Group were offering a brand new car for a hole in one.
Daisy Dyer (Chigwell) won two dozen golf balls for the longest driver at the 18th.
