ALISON BARTLETT WINS SCOTTISH VETS' MATCH-PLAY CHAMPIONSHIP

Alison Bartlett (Royal Dornoch) is the new Scottish Veteran Ladies Golf Association match-play champion.
Alison, winner of the Highland vets' title earlier in the season, beat Alex Glennie (Kilmarnock Barassie), the West champion, by 5 and 4 in the final over Blairgowrie Golf Club's Lansdowne course this afternoon.

Alex won the first hole to be one up on the second tee but that was as good as it got for the Ayrshire senior.
Bartlett, playing par golf, reached the turn in an approximate 36 shots and had established a five-hole lead.
Glennie came back into the game after the turn but ran out of holes in the end.
Bartlett was winning the Scottish veterans' title for the first time. The championship is contested by the eight divisional title winners and this is the first year that Alison had been Highland vets' championship.
In the morning's semi-finals, Bartlett had a birdie at the last to win by one hole against Linda Dyball (Midland) and Glennie won by 3 and 2 against Susan Arbuckle (Northern).
Results:
SEMI-FINALS - A Glennie (West) bt S Arbuckle (Northern)  3 and 2, A Bartlett (Highland) bt L Dyball (Midland) 1 hole.
FINAL - Bartlett bt Glennie 5 and 4.
