AMATEUR NET PRIZES AT HAGGS CASTLE AND DRUMPELLIER PAUL LAWRIE TOUR EVENTS
To encourage entries from amateur girls/ladies/senior ladies with handicaps near the maximum figure of nine to enter the upcoming Paul Lawrie Scottish Ladies Open Tour 18-hole events at Haggs Castle (Monday, September 30) and Drumpellier (Tuesday, October 1) , Tour Director Nicola Melville has decided to put up several dozen golf balls as prizes for the best NET rounds at both venues.
The withdrawal of lady pros from both fields because of a clash with LETAS events has badly hit the number of entries but the prize money/amateur vouchers fund remains around the £3,000 in value mark.
The low handicap amateurs will still be contesting the major prizes but the additional prizes for amateurs' net scores is being introduced only for these two events to try to boost the size of the fields.
