FORREST'S ERRATIC START TO US COLLEGE GOLF SEASON

Last year's Scottish amateur champion Grant Forrest (Craigielaw), a student at San Diego University, California made an erratic start to his 2013-2014 US college golf season in the Northern Intercollegiate at Rih Harvest Farms Golf Club, Sugar Grove in Illinois.
Forrest, pictured, posted roller-coaster rounds of 81, 69 and 75 for a total of nine-over-par 225 and a joint 33rd place finish in a field of 88 players.
He finished 14 shots behind the winner Roman Robledo (Houston) who had scores of 68, 70 and 73 for five-under 211.
Englishman Greg Eason (Central Florida), a 6ft 2in student from Leicester, finished second, beaten by a single stroke with a total of 212, made up of rounds of 77, 68 and 67.
Easton's good effort enabled Central Florida (866) to win the team title by a shot from Virginia (867).
San Diego played poorly as a team, finished on 930, 14th in a field of 15.
