KIMBERLEY BEVERIDGE WINS AT ELGIN IN HER LAST U18 GIRLS' TOURNAMENT

Aboyne's Kimberley Beveridge bowed out of Under-18 girls' golf by making her last appearance a winning one at Elgin Golf Club today.
In horrendous conditions of wind and rain - more rain than wind - the three times Aberdeenshire girls champion and Scottish schoolgirls international won the Inter-district girls' invitational 18-hole tournament.
Kimberley, a two-handicapper, shot a one-over-par 75 to win the scratch section by a shot from Molly Stewart (Murcar Links) with Carinne Taylor (Elgin) winning the third scratch prize with an 83.
Molly led Kimberley by one shot at the turn - out in 37 to her rival's 38 - but Beveridge came home in 37 with birdies at the 12th and 17th to Stewart's 40, which included double bogey 6s at the 11th and 14th.
Katie Miller (Forres) won the leading handicap prize with a net 71 off 25.
