SIAN EVANS MAKES TOP TEN IN MARY FOSSUM INVITATIONAL

Former Kent county champion Sian Evans from Gillingham, a student at East Tennessee State University, was the highest placed finisher among the British players in the Mary Fossum Invitational at Forest Akers, East Lansing in Michigan.
Sian shot 76-75-72 for a total of 223 over a 6,348yd par-72 course.
She finished T7, six shots behind the winner by three, Liz Nagel (Michigan State) (68-75-74 for one-over 217).
Meghan MacLaren (Florida International) from Wellingborough finished 11th on 224 with rounds of 74, 76 and 74.
Alison Knowles (Louisiana-Monroe) from South Yorkshire was placed joint 12th on 225 with scores of 72, 77 and 76.
Sophie Godley (Florida International) came T24 on 230 with scores of 74, 78 and 78.
Raphaela Dyer (Oregon) finished T63 in a field of 93 with rounds of 78, 80 and 84 for 242.
Former Scottish U18 girls champion Lesley Atkins, making her debut on the US college golf scene, also totalled 242 with scores of 82, 79 and 81.
Ohio State (896) took the team hours.
East Tennessee State (909) were placed sixth.
Florida International (922) were placed eighth in a field of 15 teams.
Louisiana-Monroe (957) came 13th.
