Euan Walker from Troon, a freshman student at the University of Missouri, finished T9 in a field of 75 players on his debut on the US college circuit.
Euan (pictured) shot 76, 68 and 70 for a two-under-par tally of 214 in the Turning Stone Intercollegiate at Verona, New York State.
Walker had the fourth best score for Missouri who won the team title by 27 strokes from Cleveland State and McNeese State, both on 860. There were 14 teams in the field.
The Ayrshire man finished seven shots behind the individual winner, Andrew Bailey (Cleveland State) (77-70-71 for 207).
Two of Walker's new team-mates finished second and third - Ryan Zech (68-70-70) in second place on 208 and Spanish student Emilio Cuartero (69-74-66) in third place on 209.

EMILY AIRD SETTLES FOR SOLID START IN STATES

Emily Aird from Perth is making her debut for Newman University, Kansas this weekend in the Rocky Mountain Athletics Conference No 1 MAC No 1 competition at Desert Hawk Golf Club, Pueblo in Colorado.
No doubt Emily was nervous on that first tee, and she took 41 shots for her first nine competitive holes in the States, but she settled and came home in 36 for a creditable round of 77.
That put her inT8 position after the first round. Emily had the second best score of the five Newman team players.
