DANIEL THOMPSETT CAPS GOOD FORM IN AMERICA WITH WIN IN RMC INVITATIONAL
DANIEL THOMPSETT in action on US college circuit.
Aboyne's Daniel Thompsett has been in outstanding form since his return to Rocky Mountain College, Montana for the 2013-2014 US college golf season.
He started with a fourth place finish in a field of 47 at the Yellowjacket Fall Invitationl with rounds of 74 and 67 for two-under-par 141.
Then Daniel was runner-up in a field of 56 at the Carroll Colletge Classic with scores of 75, 70 and 69 for 214.
Thompsett's form suggested that he was knocking on the door of a first US win of the season and, sure enough, it came along in the RMC Invitational. He shot five-under-par 208 with scores of 72, 67 and 69 to head a field of 65.
Conditions for this event were very windy but Daniel says he is used to playing in a half-gale in Scotland so his experience of that obviously served him well.
Thompsett, who is coached by Andrew Locke at Paul Lawrie Golf Centre when he is home from America, says his short game is the best it's been for a while and has helped him to score well in every tournament.
